Composer & Studio Musician

You can hear my original score in Jenny Slate’s “Stage Fright,” streaming on Netflix in October, 2019.

I love to play banjo and sing on records! Some recent projects include Grammy Award-winning “Home” by Tim Kubart, and “The Closest Thing to Home” by Ira Wolf.

Bandmate & Teacher

I’m lucky to play in two bands with some of my best friends. The Calamity Janes is a (mostly) all-lady stringband that is on a perpetual tour of Brooklyn dives and square dance halls. Rosie Newton and I have been playing music as The Pearly Snaps since we met in 2004. We’re a traditional old-time duo with a whole lotta heart. You can find both bands everywhere music is streamed.

I’ve taught banjo and ukulele to all ages, in private lessons and in group classes at some of my favorite places, including Jalopy School of Music and Miles of Music Camp.
